Earlier in the month Nicholas Rossis kindly provided us with a list short story competitions in the UK.
It has been a while since I have entered a story and I thought that I would aim high and enter The Sunday Times short story competition.
Unfortunately I do not qualify as I am a self-published author and although I have featured in both established printed magazines and on radio and television in the UK and Ireland as an interviewee, my work has not. My articles in overseas publications does not count.
I was very disappointed to find that still there are barriers to entering certain writing competitions because of this tag line we have been labelled with.. Author – Self-Published.
